The Enchanted Forest, an outdoor storytelling event for families, will take place on Friday Nov. 10 on the nature trail behind Green Mountain Union High School (GMUHS) in Chester.
Audiences can travel along a candlelit path through the woods, stopping around campfires to hear a folktale as told by the school’s student actors and narrators.
This year’s story is based on the Iroquois folktale, “The Boy Who Lived with Bears.” Storytellers will recount the story of a young boy who is taken in by a kind family of bears.
There will be four shows with performances starting every half hour. Tickets may be purchased at the gate, by donation, for the 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., or 6:30 p.m. shows.
Seating is limited, so it is advisable to arrive promptly. This event is being presented by the GMUHS wilderness, drama, and art departments, as well as the Chester Conservation Committee (CCC).
